Helping the Elderly (Spanish/English)

Guidance on helping the elderly from Somos Tribu VK - a mutual aid group.



English Translation:

How to help someone in quarantine (isolated) or an elderly person.


Before shopping:

- We talk to person.

- We provide our name and surname to let people take note.

- We recommend only open the door when that name is said.


While you are shopping:

- Remember to clean your hands before and after.

- Take gloves since you leave home and don’t use money without them.

- Pay if possible with card.

- Be kind with workers at supermarket.

- Keep 1 meter distance with all people around.


To deliver the shops:

- Avoid contact.

- When you arrive at persons home ring the bell and tell the amount.

- Remind this person that will not see each other’s face.

- Leave shop on the door and go back some meters.

- Person collect delivery and leaves money in the floor.


Spanish Text:

Protocola para hacer la compra a una persona mayor o contagiada


Antes de la compra

- La vecina o vecino llama o hablamos con ella.

- Facilitamos nuestro nombre y apellido para que lo apunten en un papel para acordarse.

- Le recordaremos que solo abra cuando repita ese nombre y apellido.


Durante la compra

- Recuerda lavarte las manos can jabón antes y después.

- Lleva guantes desde que sales de casa y no manejes dinero sin ellos.

- Page preferiblemente con tarjeta.

- Trata bien a los trabajadores del mercado y el super.

- Mantén una distancia de 1m.


Para entregar la compra:

- No tener contacto físico.

- Al llegar al domicilio de la vecina, toca ele telefonillo y dile el importe de la compra.

- Recuerda en el telefonillo, que no os vais a ver las caras.

- Deja la compra en la compra en la puerta de la vecina, llama y aléjate unos metros.

- La vecina recoge la compra y deja el dinero en el felpudo.
